Calvary Preschool

blocksCalvary Preschool is a separate, private, non-profit, non-sectarian preschool located on Calvary's downtown campus. It is an active, warm and caring place, providing high-quality childcare at afforable rates, which works with families to make students feel welcome and safe.

The Preschool offers:

 

  • Preschool curriculum for children of working parents
  • Free childcare for especially needy children
  • Drop-in emergency care for any parent
  • Counseling for parents in crisis

 

The quality of the program attracts families from all socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. They accept vouchers from all the social-service programs in Santa Cruz.

 

Director Liann Chance has been with the center since 1990 and has extensive training in Early Childhood Education and child care center administration. All teachers and aides are fully trained. Trained and screened volunteers from Calvary Episcopal Church and the community also assist.

Fall 2010 Update
Everything at the Preschool is running wonderfully. We
are almost completely full which means that we have 24
wonderful children daily. We have a wonderful staff that
works hard every day to offer the children in our program
the most amazing curriculum and prepares them for their
future education. Our Life lab garden has been up and
growing all summer and providing a wonderful outdoor
classroom for our children. Our Wine Tasting Fundraiser
was a great success. We had almost 50 people attend
and it turned out to be a very fun evening. It was so nice
to be able to meet with parents, church members and
the public in a relaxed social environment. We hope to
top it even more next year. We are really appreciate the
Church and the members of our Board of Directors who
made it all possible. We are happy to have anyone visit
anytime. We love to have volunteers or anyone who has
a specialty that they would love to share with our young
minds. So please feel free to come by and see us.
