Schoenstein Organ Installation

In July of 2018, Calvary Episcopal Church purchased the Schoenstein Opus 84 (1981) Pipe Organ to replace the 1971 Moeller organ. The organ was originally installed at Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church in San Francisco, CA, and had been held in storage for several months. William Visscher of Hupalo and Repasky Pipe Organs, LLC, was assigned to the job of configuration, installation, and tonal finishing. To help minimize cost, Calvary agreed to supply labor and assistance for removal of the Moeller Organ and installation of the new organ. The work of the Calvary volunteers is being coordinated and overseen by parishioner, Alex Johnson. These pages contain progress updates and present images of the ongoing installation.

Update:

The Schoenstein, Opus 84, organ installation at Calvary was completed in February, 2019. A splendid Inaugural Recital was given by Bruce Neswick, of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, Portland, Oregon, on Friday, March 22nd. A second recital was given by Michael Murray of St. Philip’s Anglican Church, Vancouver, British Columbia on Sunday, May 12th.

With the pandemic behind us, more organ recitals are planned for the 2023/24 program year.
